"MyEU50" Launch 

 

We were delighted to welcome Our Patron The Most Reverend Dr Michael Jackson, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Minister for Education Norma Foley, Minister for European Affairs, Thomas Byrne, and our local representatives Jim O'Callaghan TD & Councillor Deirdre Conroy, along with members of European Movement Ireland to KPS on Wednesday 7th September to launch the MyEU50 Competition.

This competition marks Ireland's 50-year anniversary on joining the EU (or the EEC as it was then!).  Our 5th & 6th Class pupils were amazing representatives of the school as they asked many interesting and probing questions.  Staff and Ruth Gyves (representing the Board of Management) were all in attendance to participate in this wonderful day for KPS!

The weather held out for us and the launch took place in our beautiful Outdoor classroom, with a quick change of location to the school hall for refreshments as the rain started.
