KPS Swim Squad Gala -March 2026
16 members of the KPS Swim Squad from third, fourth and fifth classes competed in the 2026 Willow Cup Swim Gala at the National Aquatic Centre. KPS was joined by schools from all over Dublin, including our local rivals St Mary’s, as well as Mount Anville and St Michael’s. The team had some great results, including medals for placing -

2nd in the 9 and under 50m breastroke - Sofia Creighton;

2nd in the 11 and under Medley Relay - Rachel Walsh, Lexi Carter, Carrie Cadden, Henrietta O’Sullivan;

3rd in the 10 and under breaststroke - Isabelle Sherry;

3rd in the 10 and under Medley Relay - Sofia Creighton, Molly Lea, Isabelle Sherry and Elsie FitzGerald.
Special mentions go to a 4th place in the 13 and under butterfly for Flora Redahan and 4th in the 10 and under breaststroke for Elsie FitzGerald.
And a particularly notable mention to Carrie Cadden, who stepped in to two relays at the last minute, meaning she swam five races in total, including two relays in a row!
Big thanks to the parents for making sure their kids got all the way to Blanchardstown and back on a weekday, and congratulations to all the swimmers for swimming so hard for each other in the pool! The camaraderie and teamwork between them was exceptional - they didn’t stop cheering each other on, swam their hearts out, and should be super proud of themselves.
